Important notice: Due to the recent and abrupt tier changes alongside our exit from Europe and a series of seasonal holidays, we would like to recommend not using expedited shipping for now. All of these recent changes will impact us slightly for the first couple of weeks of January. Please bear with us whilst our imports come in, couriers in affected tiers work with a reduced work force and we settle in to a new year with big changes. There will be slight delay in processing orders.

Collection: Gemstone Mala Beads

The Mala is a rosary containing 108 beads. It is used for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra or name/s of a particular deity, a practice known in Sanskrit as japa.

Hindu tradition holds that the correct way to use a mala is with the right hand, with the thumb flicking one bead to the next, and with the mala draped over the middle finger. The index finger represents ego, the greatest impediment to Self-Realization, so it is considered best avoided (as with the ego) when chanting on a mala.

Please note: Due to nature of the gemstone, each mala beads size and length may vary. Size of  the beads is approx. 0.6 cm to 0.8 cm and  length  approx. 60 cm to 80 cm.
